Daily Hebrew has a list of dozens of free book downloads related to Semitic languages. They're all from the 19th or early 20th century, but several standards are there, including several editions of Gesenius. Have a look here.
The name maklelan is a phonetic spelling of my last name. I used it while living in South America so the locals could pronounce my name, but it has since become a rather unique and convenient moniker.
This blog will focus primarily on the languages of the ancient Near East. I received a BA in ancient Near Eastern studies from Brigham Young University and am reading for the master of studies degree in Jewish Studies at the University of Oxford. My training has focused Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, Ugaritic, and Greek. I hope to use this blog to report on research I'm conducting, to comment on translation as I move through various texts (primarily the Hebrew Bible), and to provide news of particular interest to me.
